Meet Ayanna

Williams, born and raised in the Bronx, has been consistently performing as a Singer-Songwriter for over 15 years. She started performing seriously in High School, where she joined the Musical Theatre group, the Cardinal Players, at Cardinal Spellman. After obtaining her Bachelor of the Arts in Theatre from the City College of New York, she began to perform in musicals in Westchester and New York City.

In 2016, she made the decision to focus on her original music and Ayanna The Singer, her soulful brand, was born. She currently has two EPs on all music platforms, Delicate and Love Box.

When the pandemic hit in 2020 and performance opportunities were limited, Ayanna took her music journey into her own hands. She created her IG live series Midweek Melody w/Ayanna The Singer, performing weekly 20 minute sets on her social media. In 2021, when it was safe to produce in-person events, she collaborated with the Boogie Down Grind Cafe to debut Uptown Melody. Unlike her IG Series, Uptown Melody would showcase a variety of creatives in the diverse neighborhoods of the Bronx. Since then Uptown Melody has curated over 30 events and have collaborated with a mulitiude of small businesses and non-profit organizations. Each event has connected creatives to the lovers of creativity in the Bronx. With an amazing, Uptown Melody is determined to create multipe live music spaces and venues in the uptown area.

Uptown Melody is ready to fill any void in our collective psyche and be an important part of the history of the Bronx by bringing rousing live music events to a variety of neighborhoods. Our mission: uplift our people, share the power of the arts and celebrate our resilience through music and creativity.
